Water’s edge
My preoccupation of capturing patterns found in nature is a major focus of my work. Drawn to the shapes and forms created by the branches as they emerge from the muddy waters edge, I am searching for the shapes between the reflective light and build the layers to depict the untouched earthy microclimate.
As a child free to roam these areas my creative investigations absorb and reflect an immersion into the natural world. Limited edition of 15.

Commissions completed July 2020. Multi coloured reductive lino prints.
Print one; Depicts an image of students climbing in Snowdonia with Welsh poppies in the foreground. The Welsh poppy is quite different from the Flanders poppy being more blousy and orange/red in colour.

Print two; The main subject matter is of a Virgin's Bower- Clematis, lasiantha, buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. The clematis flowers symbolize the beauty of ingenuity. It has been suggested that this is most likely related to its wonderful and clever ability to secure a hold and climb around places such as walls as well as trellises. The eight colour reductive lino has various layers which intertwine, a nod to the Fibonacci sequence and tessellations in nature.
